Drop the final e in a word that is followed by a suffix beginning in a vowel letter.
(ex: -ing, -able, -ous, -ed, er, -ible, -ious, ed…).
If the final e is silent or if a word end in -ly, you drop the e.
However, some exceptions don’t follow this rule to keep the word’s identity.
