Low Camera Angle
Camera is positioned below the subject. Often makes the subject look big and powerful.
High Camera Angle
Camera is positioned above the subject. Often makes the subject look small and inferior.
Shaky Cam
When the camera is hand-held, and subtle to huge shaking may occur. Used to show what a character might see.
Extreme Close up
Close up of the face. Normally focuses on a certain facial feature such as eyes or mouth.
Close up
A picture capturing the full face in the shot.
Medium shot
A picture of the face and upper body.
Long shot
A picture of the character’s entire body.
Non-diegetic Sound
Sound that cannot be heard by the characters and was added in after.
Diegetic Sound
Sound that can be heard by the characters.
Eye-level shot
Used for neutral perspectives and is commonly used for dialogue scenes.
Birds-eye view (or overhead)
The camera facing directly down.
Panning
The camera in a fixed spot rotating on its axis to keep the subject in its view.
Tracking
The camera following the subject to keep the subject in view.
Zooming
Going closer/further from a subject/object.
Mise en Scene
The overall setting and environment of the scene.
