What does ‘Check’ Mean?
Compare the item with the specific standard
What does ‘Disconnect’ Mean?
Uncouple or detach cables, pipelines or controls from the item
What does ‘Ensure’ Mean?
Make sure that the specific conditions are correct
What does ‘Examine as far as possible’ mean?
Within physical constraints, carryout an examination to determine the condition of the item, without removing or disconnecting equipment
What does ‘Examine’ mean?
Undertake a comprehensive scrutiny, supplemented by a measurement and physical testing necessary to determine condition of an item
What does ‘Fit’ mean?
Correctly attach one item to another
What does ‘Function/Operate’ mean?
Check as far as can be determined without the use of test equipment or reference to measurements, the item or system is serviceable and operates correctly
What does ‘Inspect’ mean?
Measure, examine with a test gauge or otherwise compare the item with applicable requirements
What does ‘Look for’ mean?
Undertake a visual check for signs of a specific un-serviceability
What does ‘N.B.’ mean?
Used as a firm command, reminder not to forget something
What does ‘Note’ mean?
To give advice
What does ‘Reconnect’ mean?
Re-couple or reattach cables, pipelines or controls previously disconnected
What does ‘Refit’ mean?
Fit the item that was previously been removed
What does ‘Remove’ mean?
Correctly disconnect /detach an item from its mounting or position
What does ‘Replace’ mean?
Remove the item and fit a new and/or serviceable item
