What can high power/low air speed result in?
High power/low air speed can result in high EGT; extra fuel helps prevent this.
What is needed for fuel injection?

Black smoke indicates too much fuel present, with excess fuel burnt in the exhaust.
What are the signs of a mixture too lean?
High CHT (cylinder head temperature) indicates a lean mixture, which burns more slowly and causes higher CHT.
