This is stored energy that is just waiting to do work such as a coiled spring or elastic band.
Kinetic energy
The energy that moving things have ie, a windmill turning or a car moving.
Heat energy
Heat is energy because it can cause things to move hot air causes a hot air balloon to rise, heat in steam engine moves trains
Light energy
Light can move things in a crooked radiometer or in a solar powered calculator, plants use light to make food.
Sound energy
If you put your head near a loud speaker you can feel that air is being moved by sound energy.
Electrical energy
This energy can make things like extractor fans move. It is the flow of electrons around a circuit.
Law of conservation of energy
Energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be changed (converted)from one from to another.convert is another word for change when we eat food what is the chemical energy that was in the food used for?when we switch on a light bulb what is the electrical energy changed into?
Circuits
A circuit is made up of a battery,some wires and different types of equipment and can be used to observe energy conversions.
Fossil fuels
Oil,coal ,gas,turf
Disadvantage of fossil fuels.
They cause pollution and damage to the atmosphere.
The sun is a source of all our energy.
Heats the oceans and air creating wind,currents allows plants to make food.
Nuclear energy
When the nuclear of an atom is split large amounts of energy are released from it .
Advantages of nuclear energy
Kill cancer cells,sterilize food,produce electricity it will not run out like fossil fuels.
