tissue from uterus found outside - ovaries, bowel, lungs etc
cells especially active during periods –> escape to surrounding –> no place to go after period –> form chocolate cysts filled with dark blood

can worsen if untreated
but, not cancerous
can obstruct bowel/bladder

painkillers
COCP
IUS
GnRH - premenopausal symptoms
progesterone only - irregular bleeding, weight gain, mood changes & bloating
surgery - laser used, helps fertility
hysterectomy/oophorectomy - high success rate

pregnancy advice
A
less fertile with time
symptoms may improve during pregnancy
