Used in synchronisation by injecting teaser to encourage bull/ram like behaviour which encourages female to cycle

Encourage development of follicles
Female - can increase ovulation

Male - stimulates production do spermatozoa
Progesterone
Produced in corpus luteum Helps maintain pregnancy Development of uterine wall Used for prevention of oestrus and ovulation Stops females coming onto heat
Oestrogen
Produced by maturing follicle
Functions of oestrogen
Stimulation of oestrus, enlargement of vulva, secretions from cervix
Relaxin
Produced by ovaries
Causes pelvis ligaments to relax during birth
Luteinising hormone
Causes mature follicle to rupture
male - stimulates the production of testosterone
Female - causes corpus leutum to rupture
Prolactin
Maintains lactation
Oxytocin
Stimulates milk letdown
Helps uterine contractions during birth
Prostaglandin
Brings females in to heat and shortens oestrus cycle
Gonadotropins
Produced in gonads
Females - is the ovaries
Makes - is the testes
