To maintain homeostasis and to remove waste products.

What hormones does anterior pituitary secrete?
Growth hormone, prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), Folliclde stimulating hormone (FSH) and lutelinzing hormone, Adrenocoricotripic hormone (ACTH)
What hormones does the Posterior pituitary gland secrete
Oxytocin and Anti dieuretic hormone (ADH)
How does aldosterone cause reabsorbtion of water in the collecting duct
It creates aqua porin which is a water channel
Where does aldosterone synthesise?
Adrenal Glands
What are some of the short term stress responses from cortisol?
Increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, dilation of the bronchioles, increased metabolic rate.
Why is it good that cortisol can increase your heart rate and blood pressure?
So your body can act in response

What hormones does the adrenal gland secrete?
Cortisol, Aldsosterone and secondary sex hormones (androgens and estrogens).
What is a hormone?
They are substances released into the blood to do a job
What does the thyumus hormone produce?
T lyphocytes (T cells)
What are the major organs of the endocrine system?
Hypothalamus, Pituitary gland,pineal gland, parathyroid glands, thyroid glands, thymus, adrenal gland, pancreas, ovaries and testes.
