Q

WHat is a low dose dexamethasone supprestion test?

A
  • dexamathine is added and cortisol levels are measured in responce
  • pdh- dogs have a high basal level which then dips and regains
adh- dogws have a high basal level that dips less then regains
normal- dogs have no change in cortisol

Q

Ehat is the treatment for addisions disease?

A
  • accute =fluids, glucacorticiod and mineral corticiods suplimentation) (mineral cordicoids are not injectable)/ monitor unine output
  • chronic disease = mineralcorticiod tablets, table salt, gluticorticiods initally and at times of stress
    ad-lib water
monitor potasium nitrogen and clorine levels within the blood
