Define The Living Will
Written statement that expresses your wishes about medical treatment that would delay death from a terminal condition
Who does a Living Will apply to?
- Vegetative state
- Irreversible coma
- Unable to communicate
Define The Medical Power of Attorney (MPOA)
A document lets you choose another person (“agent”) to make HC decisions if you can no longer make those decisions for yourself
What do you do if the patient CAN’T make or communicate their health care treatment?
Check their Advance Directive (AD) document
Also can be called:
1. Living will

4. Durable Power of Attorney-Health Care (DPA-HC)
