Glucagon
A
Mechanism: Releases Glucose stores from the Liver and Skeletal muscle.
Indications: Diabetic emergency BG <60mg/dl. Unresponsive patients.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Glucagon.
Side Effects: Hypotension, Nausea/Vomiting
Route: IM or SQ
Dose: 1mg, Children less than 20kg/44lbs: 0.5mg or 0.025mg/kg.
