Trauma Center Designations
Level 1 - full ED + all specialty services + 24/7 surgeon on-call + research/education
Level 2 - full ED + some specialty services + 24/7 surgeon on-call
Level 3- full ED + emergency surgery on call
Level 4 - min capacity
What are the 4 phases of disaster planning?
- preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation
Mass Casualty Triage Classification
Level 1 - RED (critical) - not moving or talking but still breathing
STOP and resuscitate these people first
Level 2 - YELLOW (priority) - can’t walk but awake and breathing
SLOW DOWN to treat these people next
Level 3 - GREEN (delayed) walking wounded
They are free to GO
Level 4 - BLACK - expectant or dead, not breathing, no pulse
