a child develops so a toddler has basic understanding of an emotion not how it happened and needs greater support and reinforcement.

Primary school children able to report emotion and describe them as they progress they can start to interpret what others are feeling and start to express complex emotions

Adolescence explicitly recognise manage and report emotions in relation to identity moral character and combined effects of aspiration and unity
