What is Schachter 2 factor theory?
Emotion is a consequence of combining information from our bodies with perception of what goes on around us
What type of approach is appraisal theory?
Functional - emotion consequence for behaviour as opposed to introspective qualities
How did Schachter conduct his experiments?
Subjects injected with adrenaline and put in a euphoric or angry condition
What was Schachter’s ideas of appraisal?
Physiological and cognitive responses acting in parallel, cannot be independently manipulated
What is James’ feedback theory?
Body senses at the heart of emotional experience and the body reacts automatically to an event
