Q

How are emotional states distinguished using a univariate fMRI?

Q

How is it possible to switch fear ON/OFF?

A

Optogenetic stimulation of lateral amygdala can switch fear conditioning on/off.

Light stimulation can mimic patterns of activation = Long term depression/potentiation

LTD - decrease fear memory

LTP - increases fear memory
