Question 1

Engine fire on ground

Answer 1

1. Keep cranking to suck flames
2. open throttle and close mixture
3. Secure airplane ( turn off master, mags, fuel selector)
4. use fire extinguisher

Question 2

Engine fire in flight

Answer 2

1 - Secure engine (mixture, fuel selector, master)
2 - Cabin heat and air off (except overhead vents)
3 - Electrical/mag switches off
4 - Set glide speed of 100 knots or whatever necessary to extinguish fire
5 - Forced landing

   DO NOT restart engine

Engine air restart

Answer 3

• Maintain 65 mph
• Mags on
• Mixture rich
• Fuel on
• Carb heat on
• Primer in and locked
• Do not engage starter if windmilling
