What is the Inflight Medical Kit (IMK) and where is it installed
Blue bag used to treat passenger illness. 2 are located in locked brackets in the main cabin
Who can access the IMK and how is it accessed?
Flight crew members. Access with Cockpit door key or FA key.
How many IMKs are on board?
- Row 8 overhead bin.
Can you tell if the IMK has been used?
There are color coded lock seals. Green means untampered with. Red means it’s been opened before.
What is the Blood Borne Pathogen kit
This contains items to be used should a crew member be exposed to bodily fluids while onboard
Where is the AED located?
Overhead bin row 8 (with IMK)
What do the color coded lock seals mean on the AED?
Green - all required items are present
Yellow - at least minimum items and may still be used
Red - does not have necessary items and must be replaced
Who may use the AED?
Trained Flight attendant
Trained medical professional
Trained AED operator
Untrained FA under UPMC authorization and instruction
How many first aid kits are on board AND where are they located?
1 in Fwd galley closet
1 Behind the last row of passenger seats
How does the First Aid Kit differ from the IMK?
First Aid Kit is for bleeding control
IMK has medications for illnesses
How many Halon fire extinguishers are on board and where are they located?
5 fire extinguishers.
4 in the main cabin. 1 on the flight deck
How many PBEs are onboard and where are they located
5 total. Same place the fire extinguishers are
How many ELTs are there and where are they located?
1 in the first overhead bin aircraft right.
1 aircraft left overhead bin above aft over wing exit
