Where are the VHF antennas located?
VHF 1 - upper fuselage
VHF 2 - lower fuselage fwd of wing
VHF 3 - lower fuselage aft of wing
How many HF radios are installed?

How many antennas are there for the HF radio(s).
- Both radios share a single antenna.
Where are the HF radio antenna(s)
The single HF radio antenna is located on the forward leading edge of the vertical stabilizer.
Can you use both HF radios at the same time?
If not transmitting, both radios can be used to receive transmissions.
But if you are transmitting, the receiving capability on the other radio is blocked.
How will you know an HF radio has failed to tune?
The tuning tone will last more than 7 seconds, to a maximum of 15 seconds
What is the VBR switch on the audio control panel? And what do each letter stand for?
Filter Switch
V - Voice
B- Both
R- Range
What does selecting Voice on the ACP do?
Selecting this switch allows only voice transmissions to be heard.
What does selecting Range on the ACP do?
This allows for only station identifiers to be heard.
What is the purpose of selcting ALT on the ALT/NORM switch of the ACP
The selected ACP is then inoperative and the crew member can only communicate on one radio.
With the selection of ALT, how is the handmike affected
The hand microphone is unusable
In the degraded mode (ALT on ACP) how is the PA system affected
You cannot use the PA system through the ACP
