Either 1.5 mg PO all at once
or 0.75 mg 12 hours apart
2.2% when taken within 72 hrs
2.6 % when taken within 120 hrs
( decrease efficacy if BMI>26)
Repeat dose if you vomit within 2 hours
Patients should start hormonal contraception within 24 hours of taking if they want

Special Consideration with ELLA?

A

Need to delay restarting COCs for 5 days after administration
Repeat dose if vomiting’s <3 hours after taking it
If users do start COC they need to use backup for 14 days after starting it

A

Copper IUD

A

Can be used within 5-7 days if pregnancy is ruled out
1st choice if BMI>30
Pregnancy rate is 0.1% even after ovulation
Inhibits sperm function and prevents endometrial receptivity
