Symptoms - AP disengages caused by momentary loss of relevant AHRS parameters. ‘AUTOPILOT’ Aural Alert.

A/P Fails to engage
Symptoms - AP won’t engage. ‘AP FAIL’ CAS Message. Caused by pitch servo failure.

Asymmetric Pitch Trim
Symptoms - Elevator actuator jammed. Pointer yellow. Red X on pitch trim. ‘PTRIM DISCONNECT’ ‘PTRIM NML FAIL’ ‘PTRIM BKP FAIL’ CAS messages. Autopilot will not engage.

Summary - FRCs to try a reset. Landing distance correction factor may need to be applied.

Symptom - ‘ELEC XFR FAIL’ CAS Message. Batteries discharging.

Battery Discharge
Symptoms - ‘BATT DISCHARGE’ CAS Message. One battery discharging or depleted.

Summary - Isolate the battery. If persists, ELEC EMER then Land ASAP.
Battery Low Charge
Symptoms - Batt Voltage Yellow and <20V. No engine start.

FRC - No
Summary - On ground, U/S. In air, there’s something else going on. Elec Emergency perhaps.
Display Unit Failure
Symptoms - PFD Black. MFD switches to reversionary mode. PFD2 remains in normal mode.
Or.. ‘GIA 1 FAIL’ CAS Message. ‘HSDB Fault’ CAS Message. (Maybe ‘PFD FAULT’ CAS Message) PFD Reversionary.

FRC - Yes. A few to choose from.
Summary - FRC the captions. Use reversionary mode or IESI.
Battery not connected to BUS
Symptoms - ‘BATT 1(2) OFF BUS’ CAS Message

FRC - Yes
Summary - Reset battery. If not leave on.
Associated DC BUS is de-energised
Symptoms - ‘DC BUS 1(2) OFF’ CAS Message. Loss of items on that DC BUS.
MI - No
FRC - Yes
Summary - Run through drill. Understand what you lose and adapt. Land as soon as practicable.
Electrical Emergency Failure
Symptoms - ‘ELEC EMERGENCY’ CAS Message. Caused by Dual GEN or GCU failure

EMER BUS FAILURE
Symptoms - ‘EMER BUS OFF’ CAS Message. Loss of services.

Symptoms - ‘GEN 1(2) OFF BUS’ CAS Message. Loss of items on Shed Bus.

Summary - Reset. If not fixed, switch off and land as soon as practicable. Unless vibration, Land ASAP.
Generator Fault
Symptoms - ‘GEN 1 (2) OFF Bus’ ‘SHED BUS OFF’ CAS Messages.

Generator Overload
Symptoms - ‘GEN OVLD’ CAS Message. ‘BATT DISCH’ might appear.

Symptoms - ‘E1(2) CHIP DETECTED’ CAS Message.

Summary - No impact on engine operation. Smart to come back but not necessary.

Symptoms - ‘ENG EXCEEDANCE’ CAS Message.

Summary - FADEC incorrect operation. Report on Landing.
Engine Flame Out
Symptoms - Non-restartable flame out due to fuel control malfunction. ‘E1(2) FAIL’ CAS Message. ‘SHED BUS OFF’ CAS Message.

Summary - Eng Fail drill. Will go asymmetric after shutdown.
