There are 3 methods of removal. Primary, Secondary & emergency removal procedures.What does the primary method include?
There are 2 types of primary removal procedures. 1.Check wether simple electrical contacts might have broken.
2.Activate fireman service
Secondary removal procedures include using an elevator tool or key as well as directing passengers to assist in their removal.You may also dispatch 2 members to elevator room and have them shut power down and restore it. T/F?

This is the only time you can restore power to elevator.If the car is to restart it will do so w/in 10 seconds.if it don’t work turn power off & leave it off

Lt. Surbito is spreading his knowledge of elevator pit ops. w/ members on the 9x drill. He states that power must be removed in all instances when operating in a pit. He further states that you need to be aware if theres a fire in the pit to be cautious of the buffers b/c they may contain combustible or inflammable liquid. He asks the men when is it ok to enter the pit w/out turning power off?
AN EXTREME EMERGENCY. (immediate action to save life) In this case opening a hoistway door will prevent the car from moving. 4.2.2
Lt. Wilcken arrives at the lobby elevator bank at a HRFPMD fire. He places the the key in the slot to recall the elevators, however he is unable to remove the key. why is this?
The key cannot be removed when it is in the door open slot. 5.2.1 E
A phase1 recall of elevators can be done manually by use of 1620 key or automatically. What are the conditions as to why they would be recalled automatically?
Activation of elevator landing smoke detector.
Water flow from sprinkler system.

In order to initiate phase 2(operational phase) Lt. Surbito must 1st do what?
place the lobby keyed switch in fireman service. then enter car & place elevator car switch in fireman service.
Lt. Wilcken comes in 2nd due & grabs his own elevator. How shall he test it to make sure the fireman service works properly?
Once in car press door close,select floor.Once car starts moving hit call cancel button. If the car stops its good then select desired destination. 5.3.2
If when Lt. wilcken upon pressing call cancel it does not stop at the next landing what must he do?
Immediately select next available safe floor.If it does stop press door open button & leave car. Notify OIC that car is OOS. 5.3.2
What if in the previous question the car does not stop at the next available floor. What shall Lt. Wilcken do now?
He shall attempt to stop the car by forcing the doors open,thus interrupting the interlock relay switch.
Lt. Surbito and his co. arrive to theyre selected floor and when his OV pushes & holds the door open button they are met w/ moderate heat & smoke,the OV lets go of the door open button but the door continues to open. How shall Lt. Surbito lead his men?
The door open button must be held until door is completely open. upon the release of the button prior to door open it will close. this is a built in safety feature.In this case you should don face pieces & evacuate elevator & proceed to nearest safe stair. 5.3.2 #6
