Embryology Flashcards
What is the earliest organ to form and begin functioning within the developing human?
Heart.
There are three germ layers which give rise to all adult tissues and organs, which one gives rise to the heart?
Mesoderm
What are the two tubes hat eventually fuse to form the heart?
Cardiogenic tubes
Which primitive area of the heart will give rise to right ventricle?
Bulbus cordis
Which aortic arch gives rise to aorta?
4
Which aortic arch gives rise to pulmonary trunk?
6
Which aortic arch gives rise to right and left subclavian artery?
Both 4th.
What does the trunks arteriosus form in adult structure?
- Aorta -Pulmonary trunk
What does the bulbus cordis form in adult structure?
- Right ventricle
what does the primitive ventricle form in adult structure?
left ventricle (trabeculated part)
What does the primitive atrium form in adult structure?
-Anterior part of Right atrium and left atrium (trabeculated part) -Auricles of both atrium.
What does the right horn of sinus venosus form in adult structure?
-valve of superior vena cava -sino atrial node
What is the coronary sinus formed from?
Sinus venosus
What is the smooth part of right ventricle formed from?
Bulbis cordis
What is the rough part of right and left ventricle formed from What is the rough part of right and left atrium formed from
- Primitive ventricle and primitive atrium
What is the aorta and pulmonary trunk formed from/
Truncus arteriosus
Derivatives of septum primum and septum secundum
Septum primum- left side of atrial septum Septum secundum- right side of atrial septum
What does the left horn of sinus venosus?
Coronary sinus.
What does the ductus arteriosus become?
Ligamentum arteriosum. - was previously a short muscular vessel connecting the aorta and pulmonary trunk
What is the ductus venosus?
temporary Vein coming from the umbilical vein, which collects oxygenated blood from the placenta and bypasses the fetal liver to go directly to the fetal heart. - ligamentum venosum
