Electrical Flashcards
AC / DC Sources
APU 2 Engine Generators External AC Power --------- 3 TRUs 1 (or 2) Battery
AC Power Operating Principles
No paralleling of AC Sources
Connecting a new power source automatically disconnects previous source.
EXT POWER AVAIL light indicates
External Power is available and of good quality
DRIVE
Low Oil Pressure ------------------------ May be a result of - Auto shutdown due to High Oil Temp - Engine Off - Manually disconnected - IDG Failure
Is it possible to use APU and EXT power at the same time?
No
SOURCE OFF
No source has been manually selected - or -
the manually selected source has been disconnected
If the aircraft takes off with the APU powering both Transfer Busses:
Logic allows the Engine Generators to automatically power the Transfer Busses
TR UNIT
On Ground: TRU 1, 2, or 3 has failed
In Flight: TRU 1, or TRU 2 and 3 has failed
DC Cross Bus Tie Relay opens when:
GS Intercept - or -
BUS Transfer Switch - OFF
Battery only power duration, busses powered:
30 minutes (1 Battery) 60 minutes (2 Battery)
Hot Batt, Switched Hot Batt, Battery, DC Standby, AC Standby (through static inverter)
What would cause the IDG to automatically disconnect?
High IDG oil temp
GEN OFF BUS
IDG not supplying power to the related bus
ELEC
A fault exists in the DC or STANDBY power system
STANDBY POWER OFF
AC STANDBY, DC STANDBY, BATTERY Bus not powered.
