Electric circuits Flashcards
1
Q
Ohm’s law
A
Potential difference across a conductor is directly proportional to the current in the conductor at constant temperature
2
Q
Ohmic conductor
A
Conductor that obeys ohms law. Resistance remains constant when voltage is varied over the resistance OR current is increased.
eg copper wire
3
Q
Non-ohmic conductor
A
Does not obey ohms law. resistance is not constant when voltage is varied across it.
eg. diodes and transistors
4
Q
Power
A
rate at which work is done
5
Q
what divides voltage?
A
Seires circuits
6
Q
what divides current?
A
