Tennis Elbow
• What is it?
◦ Known as lateral epicondylitis, when tendons in the elbow are overloaded usually through motions on the wrist and arm
Tennis Elbow
• Prevalence
◦ While tennis elbow affects people of all ages, it’s most common in adults between the ages of 30 and 50
- No gender difference in the prevalence of definite lateral epicondylitis.
Golfer’s Elbow
• What is it?
◦ Known as Medial Epicondylitis, irritation on the inner side of the arm and elbow, unlike tennis elbow which is the lateral epicondylitis
◦ Elbow can be inflamed or hot
- t’s characterized by pain from the elbow to the wrist on the inside (medial side) of the elbow

◦ Smoking
◦ Obese
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
• What is it
- When the ulnar nerve becomes compressed or irritated. This makes the hand and fingers numb when performing daily tasks and may cause weakness within muscles.
◦ Peripheral nerve compression, which is the second most common compression neuropathy in the upper extremity after carpal tunnel syndrome
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
• Prevalence
◦ Common in both males and females with no specific age for onset

• Risk factors
◦ Overhead throwing activities can affect this
◦ Obesity can also play a risk
◦ Resting elbows on a hard surface such as a desk job
