Yama
Yoke. Social and ethical restraints of conduct relating to how the yogi should behave in relationships with others.
Niyama
Me Yoke. Ethical restraints concerning the conduct of the yogi to self.
Five Yama
Ahimsa (Non-Violence), Satya (Non-Lying), Asteya (Non-Stealing), Brahmacharya (Non-Sexytime), Aparigraha (Non-Grasping)
Five Niyama
Shaucha (Purity), Santosha (Contentment/Gratitude), Tapas ( Spiritual Discipline), Svadhyaya (Self-study), Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender to divine will)
Asana
Seat. Posture. These are the yoga poses.
Pranayama
Controlling of the life force prana carried on the breath.
Dharana
Concentration or Focus
Dhyana
Meditation
Samadhi
Absorption into a super-conscioius state-realization
Pratyahara
Withdrawing of the senses or turning inward
