Focus on business needs
Every decision in the development process should be taken with a view to best satisfying business needs
Deliver on time
Time boxing is applied. Every deadline will see delivery of valuable products even if less valuable are held over.
This is better than delivery dates being pushed back until delivery of all scheduled products can be made.
Collobrate
A one team culture is promoted where user representative are integrated into the delivery team.
Never compromise quality
Realistic quality targets are set early in the project. A project of continuously testing out products as soon as possible is adopted.
Build incrementally from the firm foundation
Just like other agile approaches such as scrum method. DSDM focuses on deliver value early and building on the progress made at each steps.
Realising new features early ensures that project is always headed in the right direction
Develop iteratively
Development should be based on iterative approach. New features are released and tested throughout the project and later tweaked and added to later release according to the feedback provided by the clients and testers.
Communicate continuouly
Communication with stakeholder can make or break the project. It allows to manage their expections and ensure that will be no obstacles down the down.
Internal communication with team members is also essential
Demonstrate control
Atern methodology has various plans and reports that can be used to communicate project intention and outcomes to the project sponsor and stake holders.
