Oral and Written Communication Skills Importance
People view how responsible and professional you are based on how you write and communicate
What should you remember to do when it comes to communication oral or written?
1) Address the person with respect, use proper and/or preferred name.
2) Do not talk down to people.
3) Vary content and level based on who you are speaking to.
4) Say everything with confidence, do not say things like, “I think”.
5) Give guardian and/or parent information on child while mentioning childs’ progress no matter how small.
6) Avoid jargon, not everyone knows what a phoneme is. If jargon is needed, then explain it.
7) Do not repeat yourself over and over again.
Extras: Be clear and concise. Be aware of tone/suprasegmentals. Model good speech and language.
