Multicultural Education

- multicultural education was implemented which aimed to make a more inclusive educational environment for minority students.
- Such attempts included:
- Having classes which specifically educated students about the languages, religions and diets of different minority ethnic groups
- Changing textbooks so that they had broader representation of ethnic minorities

This is because Academies have a degree of autonomy which allows them to teach a curriculum which is more relevant to their learners

Implementation of British Values
A
- Ofsted Inspection Framework indicated that every lesson taught to students needs to incorporate British values into the teaching.
- The most notable of this for minorities is the ‘tolerance of different cultures and religions’, and ‘mutual respect’.
- The idea being is that younger generations of all ethnicities would simultaneously develop a sense of British identity which would create a sense of solidarity, while also celebrating diversity and multiculturalism
