Advantages of the educational approach?
Allows own decision making
Can be delivered in large groups
Can give something to target groups to take away with them to read
Why is making them let their own decisions good?
So don`t feel pressurising into a decision, therefore empowering the individual
Why is large groups a positive?
More cost effective than 1-1 sessions
Why is being able to take leaflets away with you a positive?
May encourage students to research the topic further
What are the negatives of this approach?
Difficult to know if learning has taken place
Wont work if target groups don`t want the information
Time constraint can be limited
Why is it difficult to determine if learning has taken place?
May take leaflets away and never read it or make necessary changes
Why will it not work if the target groups dont want the info?
They will be bored or find it too complex
Why can time be limiting?
One hour presentation once a year
