Textbooks were rewritten to fit Nazi view of history
How was History used to indoctrinate children?
It taught about the evil of communism and the evil of the Treaty of Versailles.
How was Geography used to indoctrinate children?
It taught children about land that should belong to Germany
How was Maths used to indoctrinate children?
Had lots of military-related questions
Why was physical education important for boys?
It prepared them for the military- 15% of time devoted to it
What kind of things did girls do at school and why?
Needlework and Cooking. This prepared them to become good mothers.
How were children taught ideas about race?
> Race studies were introduced to emphasise the superiority of the Aryan race
> Also taught students hot to ‘classify’ racial types
How did the Nazis emphasise the greatness of Hitler
Lessons began and ended with saluting and ‘Heil Hitler’
