Knee; temporomandiublar joint
What ligaments?
collagen fibrils that connect bone to bone
What are tendons

Whawt are common or concerning symptoms?
low back pain
neck pain
monoarticular or polyarticular joint pain
inflammatory or infectious joint pain
joing pain with systemic features such as fever, chills, rash, anorexia, weight loss, weakness
joint pain with symptoms from other organ systems
What are tips for assessing joint pain (3)
- ask patients to “point to pain” this may save time b/c pateint’s verbal description may be imprecise
- clarify and record the mechanism of injury, part. if there is a histry of trauma
- determine whether the pain is LOCALIZED or dffuse, acute or chronic, inflammatory or non inflammatory

What is Sausage-toe Spondyloarthritis

What is ankylosing spondylitis?
Ankylosing spondylitis is a long-term disease that involves inflammation of the joints between the spinal bones, and the joints between the spine and pelvis.
These joints become swollen and inflamed. Over time, the affected spinal bones join together.
