Ecosystems And Interactions Between Organisms Flashcards
What are the 4 organised levels of a ecosystem?
Individual - a single organism
Population - all the organisms of one species in a habitat
Community - all the organisms of different species living in a habitat
Ecosystem - a community of organisms along with all the abiotic conditions
What is mutualism? Example?
It is a relationship between two organisms , that which organisms benefit :
Bees and flowers
Bees get food
Flowers get to reproduce easily
What is Parasitism? Example?
Parasitism is when two species interact with each other but the host doesn’t get anything in return and the parasite received all the benefits :
Dogs and flees
Dogs don’t get anything
Flees get hosts blood
What are biotic and abiotic features? Examples?
Biotic features are features that living that affect a community
Abiotic features are features that are non living that affect a community
Biotic = competition of the same resources, predation Abiotic = temperature, amount of water, light intensity, levels of pollutants
