What is energy flow?
The energy and mass being transferred or transformed in a food chain.
What is biomass?
All organic matter in a ecosystem
What does biomass represent ?
The total mass of living matter in a ecosystem.
What is a producer ?
Producers are Autotrophs. They make their own food.
They convert inorganic material into organic.
What are consumers ?
Consumers are Heterotrophs because they get their food from other living things.
What are primary consumers?
They are herbivores. They feed on their seeds.
What are secondary or tertiary consumers ?
They are Carnivores. They feed on animals.
What are decomposers ? What do they feed on ?
They decompose organic material. They feed on ditrivous
What is a disturbance ? What can it lead to ?
A event that damages the ecosystem. It can lead to extinction of animals and change the availability of resources.
What are the types of disturbances ?
Natural : This is because the environment. (Hurricanes, earthquakes. )
Human Disturbance : War, construction
