What was it like in the new England colonies?
cold, rocky soil. they made money with ship building and trading as they had a port

mild climate, grew crops, made paper textiles and iron

warm climate, grew cotton, tobacco and rice, loads of slaves
Why did trade with england cause economic growth?
people came to the colonies, more jobs building ships and rich britain’s invested in cash crops

there was a higher demand as countries didn’t have the right climate and more people heard about them

tobacco, bamboo, timber, rice, fish, cotton and wheat
What did the introduction of tea lead to?
to was imported from india to britain, it was expensive especially in the colonies and was seen as a status symbol and people began and to elsewhere to make it
Why was tea more expensive in the colonies?
it was taxed by Britain so costed more to transport and buy
What was the molasses act 1733?
imposed tax on molasses, suger and rum
Why was tobacco so important?
in the southern colonies it was a very good source of income and everyone would struggle if it wasn’t successful
