What is the Clark fisher model?
A model that shows the popularity of the different job sectors over time.
What is the primary industry?
The sector of jobs that extract raw materials from the ground. E.g. farmers, miners
What are secondary jobs?
The sector of jobs that make products from raw materials. E.g. seamstress, factory worker
What are tertiary jobs?
Jobs that provide a service. E.g. teachers, doctors, shopkeepers
What are Quaternary jobs?
Jobs that are involved in development. E.g. experimental chefs, scientists
Why has the secondary industry decreased in the UK?
Because the UK has gone past its industrial revolution and is now a HEDC and products are now made more in other countries.
Why has tertiary industry increased in the UK?
We have gone past the industrial revolution so now more tertiary jobs are available.
What is fair trade?
Fair trade is when all the people involved in trading get the same amount of money.
Why is there unequal trade in the coffee industry?
Farmers are being paid much less for their hard work whereas sellers are being paid a lot even though they only sell the coffee and have nothing to do with making it. And the prices for coffee are decided in big cities such as London or New York without consulting the farmers.

What is a stakeholder?
A stakeholder is anyone with an interest in a business or country. They are individuals, groups or organisations that are affected by the activities of the business.
What is a sweatshop?
A factory or workshop especially in the clothing industry where manual workers are employed at very low wages for long hours and under poor conditions.

Why was there a dip in international tourism from 2001-2005?
Because of 9/11 a terrorist attack which left people very scared to go on planes.
Name two social and two economic reasons why international tourism has increased.
Social: people have been retiring earlier. People have family in different parts of the world. Popular to have a gap year.
Economic: people are paid more. Cheap airlines like easy jet. Cheap last minute flights. More disposable income
What is the definition of a coral reef?
A reef composed mainly of coral and other organic matter of which parts have solidified into limestone.
Name the best conditions for reefs to grow in?
Warm temperatures
Clear water
Lots of sunlight
Salty water.
Name two economic issues associated with the Great Barrier Reef and tourism.
Teens are dropping out of school early to get jobs in tourism.
There will be a shortage of high paid jobs in the future because of all the teens dropping out.
How does needing a permit to do anything on the reef help stop pollution?
It will stop people from getting unrestricted access to the reef.
What are NICs, LEDCs and MEDCs?
NICs= newly industrialised countries. LEDCs= less economically developed countries. MEDCs= more economical developed countries.
How does only building from imported wood help protect the Kenyan landscape?
No local trees are cut down.
