What is the definition of ecology?
The field of study on the relationship between organisms (living) also including humans, and the environment like community and biosphere level.
What is an ecologist?
A scientist who studies the relationship between humans and living organisms. They test different theories on their relationship.
What is the biosphere?
Regions of the earth surface that sustain life (this includes the whole globe) - that are taken or occupied by living organisms like people and animals.
What is an ecosystem?
It is a system where organisms living in an area and the nonliving features of their environment.
What is an abiotic factor?
The non-living part of an environment; such as: water, soil, temperature and sunlight.
What is a biotic feature?
The living part of an environment; such as animals and plants.
What is a population?
All of the organisms in an ecosystem that belong to the same species. An example would be all the elephants in a savanna ecosystem.
What is a community?
All the populations in an ecosystem.
What is a biome?
An environment that contains characteristic plants and animals. Examples of Biomes include: Tropical rain forests, tropical savanna, desert, temperate forest, coniferous forest, tundra, and freshwater ecosystems.
