ECOLOGICAL SUCCESSION Flashcards
✓ is the process by which the mix of species and habitat in an area changes over time.
Ecological succession
✓ It is a process by which an ecological community undergoes changes following a disturbance or initial colonization of new habitat.
ECOLOGICAL SUCCESSION
✓ This is developmental process of land to make it as habitat for organisms.
ECOLOGICAL SUCCESSION
✓ It is the process of changing the land that organisms will live. The living things—which are plants, animals and people can compete with each other to occupy the land produces by different succession.
ECOLOGICAL SUCCESSION
is a foundational concept in ecology, which as a field examines the structure and dynamics of biological communities.
Ecological succession
There are two major types of ecological succession
Primary Succession
Secondary Succession
✓ is the process of developing the barren land where organisms are not existed to make it as new habitat area. It create new life of ecosystem through the helps of living things.
primary succession
The first species that start living in the barren land undergoes primary succession is called as
“pioneer species
✓ is also the process of developing the land but we need to understand that this land is already existed.
- The living and non-living things that exist in this land will experience some destruction to replace the ecosystem that already lives in the land.
