ECG Flashcards
Ventricular tachycardia
Three or more consecutive PVC, rapid
No P-wave, bizarre and wide QRS
Ventricular fibrillation
Chaotic activity of ventricle, unable to determine rate, indiscernible waves
Erratic activity without QRS
AV blocks
Abnormal delays or failure to conduct through normal system
3rd° is life-threatening
Pauses just get longer with higher degrees
ST depression
May indicate ischemia if downsloping
ST elevation
Shows new MI, injury, or pericarditis
Inverted T-wave
Indicates ischemia
Deep Q waves
MI
Infarction versus ischemia
Infarction is complete blockage, ischemia is partial blockage
PVC
Premature be arising from ventricle, very large, compensatory pause after
Serious if more than 3–5 consecutive PVC/minute
