Where are EBS masks located?
> ALL COMPARTMENTS throughout SM
What conditions to check for in a EBS mask?
> No broken straps / head net intact
Cracked / heavily scratched plastic facia
No splits in the hose
No splits in face seal
What do you test for with an EBS?
> Test for Air Supply
Check for Air Leaks
When are EBS’s broken out? (Stowage opened, mask & hose removed, pre-wear checks conducted & the mask is then carried)
> At Emergency Stations & Action Stations
Hazards associated WHILST CARRYING an EBS?
> Masks straps not snagged
Mask Facia not damaged
Take control of bayonet connection
Hose maybe a trip hazard
EBS to be carried with one hand, leaving one hand free for movement around SM easier
Hazards associated with MOVING whilst WEARING an EBS mask?
Limited Visibility due to;
> Inadequate lighting
Smoke filled compartments
Restricted length of EBS Hose
Breathing Compressed Air under SM internal pressure
