Anorexia can cause hypothyroidism in some individuals.

Why could a patient with Bulimia Nervosa present with a metabolic alkalosis and hypokalaemia?
A
- Vomiting - Loss of HCl.
- Hypochloraemic Metabolic Alkalosis.
- Severe Vomiting - Hypokalaemia.

How do Biochemical Levels appear in Anorexia Nervosa?
A
All levels are low except for 3Cs and 3Gs and K.
Cs : Cortisol, Carotin, Cholesterol.
Gs : Growth Hormone, Glucose, Salivary Glands.
K : Potassium (ECG - Hypokalaemia = QT Prolongation).

How does Carotenoderma appear?
A
Just like jaundice but the sclera are untouched by the yellowing.
