Saffran’s Famous Study (1996)
-investigated if children could distinguish coherent words in a stream of nonsense speech like this:
tupirobidakugolabupadotibidaku
-after 2 minutes infants were able to distinguish between words and part words
-babies do this with non speech stimuli too
-pattern finding ability is good also for facial recall and learning language
