Surfers ear: Boney part starts to grow in and narrow the tube

Auriculotemporal branch of V3 ( Sup medial)
Vagus (tragus?) (deeper parts)

Separates ME from Middle cranial fossa (petrous part of the temporal bone)

Jugular
A branch of glossopharyngeal nerve runs through, to enter tympanic plexus
Beneath is internal jugular

- Promontery
- Tympanic plexus (made of Sympathetic plexus from internal carotid, CN9 and mkes lesser petrosal nerve)
- Oval and round windows
- Prominence of facial nerve

Anterior or carotid wall
- Eustachian/Pharyngotympanic tube
- Tensor tympani muscle
- Chorda tympani nerve (taste to ant 2/3 of tongue!) (exit)
- Carotidotympanic nerves (to plexus)
Posterior wall (mastoid wall)
Stepdius tendon
Corda Tympani nerve (from facial nerve, entry)
Aditus to mastoid antrum!! Mastoiditis, emergency!
