Q

Environmental effects of acid rain

A
  1. Leach Mg2+ from soil, reducing chlorophyll levels, slowing growth of plants
  2. Increasing concentration of Al3+ from rocks, binding to roots, hindering plants from taking up water
  3. Causes chemical erosion of stones, like limestone (CaCO3)
  4. Kills aquatic life. Lakers are dead under 4 pH
  5. Leach nutrients from soil
