The sound entering the capsule hits a ? that’s attached to an ? coil (copper wire around a solid iron core). The diaphragm and induction coil are suspended within the magnetic field of a permanent magnet. When these move, a varying current’s produced through electromagnetic induction. As the diaphragm captures sound it converts this into an electric signal that changes in proportion to varying air pressure.
