Rely on anaerobic bacteria in the colon to divide enzymatically the ado-bond that joins the two moieties together (something that can be split)

What is mesalazine, what does it treat and what does it do?
A
Aminosalicylate
- treats mild-to-moderate UC
- modulates inflammatory cytokine secretion + inhibits leukotrienes, prostaglandins that are responsible for the expression of pro-inflammatory molecules.

A
Metronidazole + ciproflaxin
