MOA: inhibits bone breakdown (structural analog, natural substance)
use: FRACTURES
- plateau effect after 1st year

Denosumab use, MOA
use: FRACTURES (targeted for postmenopausal, high risk of fractures, bone tumors)
MOA: inhibits RANK, responsible for bone reabsorption
Denosumab S/E
fatigue
asthma
hypophosphatemia
nausea
hypercholesterolemia
MSK pain
hypocalcemia
Teriparatide use, MOA
use: FRACTURES (high risk of bone fractures, but req. daily SC)
MOA: like endogenous PTH to increase bone formation
Teriparatide S/E
dizziness, vertigo
depression, insomnia
rhinitis, cough
leg cramps, arthralgia
nausea
