Warnings: Electrolyte disturbances, hx of gout can preciipitate, Sulfa allergy, photosensitivity
Rx for HTN: 12.5-25mg once a day may increase to 50mg once a day

MOA: Irreversibly Inhibits COX 1 and COX 2, inhibits platelet aggregation, antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory.
Indications: mild-moderate pain, inflammation, fever, prevention of acute coronary symptoms, management of RA
AE: Hemorrhage, GI ulcer
Dose: 325-650 every 4-6 hours, up to 4 grams per day

Reversibly inhibits COX 1 and COX 2, antipyretic, anti-inflam, analgesic
Indications: gout, RA, bursitis, tendonitis
AE: heartburn, abdominal pain, n/v/d, tinnitus, dizziness, rash, HA
Dosing: 200 mg every 8-12 hours, can use 400 mg base dose. Max 600 mg in 24hours
Ibuprofen dosing
OTC: 200 mg every 4-6 hours PRN
Max: 1200 mg per day except with OA or RA: 3200 mg per day max but not for longer than 10 days
celecoxib (Celebrex): MOA, indications, CI, AE, dosing
MOA: inhibits COX 2, antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflam
Indications: Acute pain, RA, OA, primary dysmenorrhea, ankylosing spondylitis
AE: NSAID standard plus peripheral edema and cough
Dosing: initial: 400 mg, then after 200 mg BID
indomethacin (Indocin)
MOA: Reversibly inhibits COX 1 and COX 2, antipyretic, anti-inflam, analgesic
Indications: pain, arthritis, inflammatory conditions, patent ductus arteriosus
Dosing: 20 TID, or 40 mg 2-3 times per day
meloxicam (Mobic)
MOA: Reversibly inhibits COX 1 and COX 2, antipyretic, anti-inflam, analgesic
Indications: OA, RA, juvRA
AE: URI, UTI, dyspepsia, edema, arthralgia
Dosing: 7.5 mg QD to 15mg QD, Max: 15mg daily
ketorolac (Toradol)
MOA: Reversibly inhibits COX 1 and COX 2, antipyretic, anti-inflam, analgesic
Indication: short term management (less than or equal to 5 days) for moderate to severe pain
AE: NSAID standards drowsiness, edema
Dosing: Usually start with IV or IM and goes to oral. Max parenteral 120mg per day, oral 40 mg per day.
