A

Dyspnea or signs of inadequate breathing Associated signs and symptoms: inadequate breathing based on patient complaint, by physical exam, SaO2 of below 94%, and management of hypoperfusion or altered mentation or per emergency care provider discretion.

A

Reverses hypoxia by providing oxygen in gas form to be absorbed by lungs, can reverse cardiac hypoxia, brain hypoxia and reveres respiratory insufficiency seen in shock.

A

route/dosage

A

Route and Dosage: Inhalation 1-25 l/min

Mouth to CPR mask: 12 L/Min (50% oxygen)

Nasal cannula: 2-6 L/Min (24-44% oxygen)

Non-Rebreather Mask: 12-15 L/Min (80-90% oxygen)

Bag Valve Mask (BVM) with Reservoir 15 L/Min (~ 100% oxygen)
