Indication
respiratory depression induced by opioids/narcotics,
- coma of unknown origin
-suspected opioid use.
Mechanism of Action:
Narcotic overdose treatment by competing with opioids at opiate receptor sites in the brain, booting or filling the receptor site instead of the opioid.
Contraindications:
None in emergency setting
Form

Route
Auto-injector, intramuscular (IM)
Nasal spray, intranasal (IN)
Injection, intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous
Pediatric:
0.1 mg/kg intranasal (IN) or intramuscular (IM) routes
adult dose
0.5mg – max dose is 8.0 mg every 2 to 3 minutes. 0.5mg – max dose is 8.0 mg every 2 to 3 minutes.

Heroin, morphine, fentanyl, Vicodin, Norco, hydromorphone, hydrocodone, methadone, Demerol, meperidine
